WickLogs Desktop licence

This is the licence for the WickLogs desktop app and the WickLogs chart plugins ("the Software"). The licensor is Valentinyi Zoltán Viktor, sole proprietor (egyéni vállalkozó, EV), a sole proprietor, seat 2890 Tata, Kocsi utca 61.. It is part of the Terms of Service. By installing or using the Software you accept it.

1. Your licence

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install the Software on your own computers and use it for your own trading journal, for as long as you follow the Terms of Service and have an account or plan that allows it. The Software is licensed, not sold.

2. What you may not do

  • Copy, sell, rent, lend or sub-license the Software.
  • Remove or get around licence or access checks.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or modify it, except where the law gives you that right (for example for interoperability under EU law).
  • Use it to harm others or break the law.

3. What the Software sends and receives

  • Update checks: on start the app asks wicklogs.com for the update list. When there is an update, wicklogs.com sends the download to GitHub's file servers. GitHub and WickLogs therefore see your IP address and the app's normal request details.
  • When you are signed in, the app uploads your captured snapshots, fills and preferences to your WickLogs account. The MotiveWave plugin does the same by itself when the desktop app is closed.
  • Your broker login stays on your PC, encrypted with Windows' own protection, and goes only to your broker's server. It is never sent to WickLogs.
  • Market data: the app requests delayed options data from CBOE and price bars from Yahoo directly from your PC. Those services see your IP address.
  • Local files are kept on your PC, by default in C:\WickLogs.

4. Third-party software and data

The Software works with ATAS, Quantower, Sierra Chart, MotiveWave, NinjaTrader, Rithmic, CBOE, Yahoo and others. WickLogs is not affiliated with them and their trademarks belong to their owners. You need your own licences and data subscriptions for them. Data from them is provided as is. Options data is delayed.

5. No advice

The Software is not financial advice and not a broker. Trading is risky and your decisions are your own.

6. Warranty and liability

The Software is in beta and provided as is, as far as the law allows. Your statutory rights as a consumer, including for defective digital content, stay as they are. Liability that the law does not allow to be limited is not limited. Section 13 of the Terms of Service applies.

7. Ending the licence

You can stop using and uninstall the Software at any time. The licence ends if you seriously break it or the Terms of Service, or if the Service is discontinued. Then you must stop using the Software.

8. Law
