Privacy Policy

WickLogs ("WickLogs," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Viktor Valentinyi, an individual based in Hungary, provides an orderflow trading journal and analytics service (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and — importantly — how we share and sell trading data derived from your use of the Service. Please read it carefully, especially Section 4 ("How We Sell and Share Trading Data").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — your name, email address, hashed password, and authentication data you provide when you register.
  • Trading data — your trade executions, snapshots, and the up to 222 orderflow data points captured per trade, including instrument, timestamps, prices, size, direction, footprint, volume profile levels, divergences, and market context.
  • Usage and technical data — log data, device and browser information, IP address, and analytics about how you interact with the Service.
  • Communications — messages you send us, including beta applications and support requests.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your dashboards.
  • Authenticate you and secure your account.
  • Process, analyze, and display your trades and analytics.
  • Create pseudonymized and aggregated datasets from trading data, as described in Section 4.
  • Communicate with you about the Service, beta access, and support.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Pseudonymization of Trading Data

Before trading data is shared with or sold to third parties, we pseudonymize it: we remove direct identifiers such as your name, email, and account credentials, and replace them with a random identifier. Your name is never attached to the data we market.

However, pseudonymized data is still treated as personal data under laws such as the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). The rights described in Sections 6 and 7 apply to it.

4. How We Sell and Share Trading Data

A core part of our business is licensing and selling trading data to third parties, including hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, financial institutions, brokers, and data or analytics providers (collectively, "Data Partners"). We want to be direct about this:

  • We sell and license pseudonymized, per-user trading data — such as your executions, positions, orderflow context, and derived statistics — to Data Partners.
  • Data Partners may use this data for research, model training, market and sentiment analysis, and other commercial purposes.
  • We do not sell your direct identifiers (name, email, or account credentials) as part of these datasets.
  • We do not sell the content of your support communications.

Under the CCPA/CPRA, this activity is a "sale" and/or "sharing" of personal information. Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, we rely on your consent as the legal basis for it. You can opt out or withdraw your consent at any time — see Sections 6 and 7.

5. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA and UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you sign up for.
  • Consent — to sell or share your pseudonymized trading data with Data Partners. We request your explicit, separate consent for this, and you may withdraw it at any time without affecting your use of the core Service.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the Service, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
  • Restriction and objection — ask us to restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent to the sale or sharing of your trading data at any time.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny you the Service, charge you a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13.

7. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

You have the right to opt out of the sale and sharing of your trading data at any time. When you opt out, we will stop including your data in datasets licensed or sold to Data Partners going forward.

To opt out, toggle off "Allow selling & sharing my trading data" in your account settings at any time, or email us at info@wicklogs.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." We will process opt-out requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Please note: once pseudonymized data has already been shared with or sold to a Data Partner, we may be unable to retrieve or delete copies held by that Data Partner. Opting out prevents future sharing but may not reverse past transfers.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and trading data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Snapshots may be stored locally on your machine by default.

Pseudonymized and aggregated datasets that no longer identify you may be retained and used by us and our Data Partners indefinitely. We also retain and use data as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

9. Security

We protect your data with technical and organizational measures, including encryption of credentials, access controls, and secure infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Data Transfers

We and our Data Partners may process data in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.

11. Children

The Service is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where required by law, notify you or seek your renewed consent.
